US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has returned to work, five days after being released from hospital for a blood clot treatment. She was gifted with an American football helmet and jersey with the number 112, reflecting the number of countries she has visited as Secretary of State.
Clinton met with her staff at the start of a busy week-long schedule, which includes a dozen meetings. On Tuesday alone, she is set to meet US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, national security adviser Tom Donilon, and the ambassadors of Ireland and South Africa.
Clinton is soon expected to resign as Secretary of State. President Barack Obama has nominated Senator John Kerry to replace her.
