The United Arab Emirates has celebrated its 41st National Day, with millions enjoying festivities across the nation.
A variety of events were organized with fireworks and traditional folk dances and songs taking center stage. Streets, malls and residential areas were awash with the colours of the UAE flag.

In Dubai, the world’s tallest tower, Burj Khalifa, was illuminated to mark the occasion. The day marks the UAE’s formal independence from the United Kingdom and the eventual unification of the seven emirates on December the 2nd, 1971.
