A Bangladeshi man has been arrested in a sting operation by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation for plotting to bomb the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City.
Federal authorities say the suspect was captured while trying to detonate what he believed to be a half-ton bomb in front of the Fed building on Liberty Street in lower Manhattan.

According to the US Department of Justice, 21-year-old Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis faces charges of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and attempting to provide material support to al-Qaeda.
The public was not in danger, because the explosives provided to Nafis by an undercover agent were never in working condition.
According to the criminal complaint, Nafis travelled to the US in January, and considered several targets for his attack.
